International Taijutsu/Jujutsu Renmei

About

ITJR

The International Taijutsu/Jujutsu Renmei (ITJR) was founded in the beginning of 2006. Founding organizations were Kihaku Dojo (Germany) and Gake Dojo (Sweden).

The purpose of the federation is to establish a cooperational framework for dojo that are honestly devoted to fostering the martial traditions of Taijutsu and Jujutsu as well as the values of Budo without being driven by political or economic ambitions.

Hence, ITJR focuses on promoting the idea of diligent, lifelong training towards true technical as well as mental progress thus striving to contribute to a healthy and peaceful society.

Membership in the International Taijutsu/Jujutsu Renmei is free of charge and open for dojo practicing Taijutsu, Jujutsu or Budo. Before becoming a member, a dojo is assessed by president and vice president in mutual agreement.

By approving that the syllabus of instruction and the headmaster’s personal conduct are compliant with the federation’s goals and standards, the head master gets certified by the ITJR and the dojo is registered with the ITJR.

A registered head master may request further instructor certificates for other teachers of his/ her dojo. Assessment and Approval of technical ability as well as personal conduct is done by president and vice president as mentioned before.

The federation does not build up a structure of regional directors. Thus all dojo remain equal and independent in their activities only being liable to ITJR’s ideals. Dojo are free to leave the federation upon written request to the board. In case  a dojo or its headmaster is acting against the ideals and standards of the federation the dojo will be banned.
